1994

08/01/94 The Showboat, Bristol

Jonny Collins, David W.Brown,Mark Langley, Jim Harvey, Art Challender

An ill-advised show at an unknown venue above a pub that was trying to develop a reputation. Played "When You Were Young" for the first and, so far, only time. Cracks are beginning to show in this lineup by this point.

17/01/94 The Fuzz Club, Bristol

Jonny Collins, David W.Brown,Mark Langley, Jim Harvey, Art Challender

Another strange venue, no stage as I remember and pillars in the middle of the room. Cracks are getting worse by now.

09/05/94 The Fuzz Club, Bristol

Jonny Collins, David W.Brown,Mark Langley, Phil Johnstone-Smith, Art Challender

Back at The Fuzz but with a replacement guitarist. Jim was kicked out at some point between the two shows and Phil, who previously had done our sound and was a good friend of Mark's, was promoted to lead guitar.

01/07/94 The Lochiel, Bristol (cancelled)

This is a strange one. We were booked to play at a Punk Club on The Lochiel which was a less-than-watertight ship moored in Bristol Docks. However Art, whose real name was Paul but we changed it because Paul is a boring name and Art is a good name for a drummer, quit the band the evening before and the promoters thought we'd get beaten up if we tried to play an acoustic set.

02/07/94 Larkhall Mardi Gras, Bath

Jonny Collins, David W.Brown,Mark Langley, Phil Johnstone-Smith, a drum-machine

An outdoor community festival in Bath with a hastily programmed drum-machine. It was probably disastrous but I do remember doing The Byrds "Feel A Whole Lot Better".

11/10/94 The Thekla, Bristol

Jonny Collins, David W.Brown,Mark Langley, Phil Johnstone-Smith, Steve Miles

Supporting Edwyn Collins again on his "Gorgeous George" tour. New drummer and splendid fellow, Steve Miles, got to play with his punk hero Paul Cook, and use his kit, as he was drumming for Edwyn at the time.
