15/10/03 The Cavern, Liverpool

Jonny Collins, David W.Brown, Gregory Jones, Mark Bradley

Nearly a year passes in which more members come and go but, having recruited the fabulous Mark Bradley on drums, we travelled to Liverpool lured by the promise of playing at The Cavern. Part of the International Pop Overthrow festival we took the stage early and ran through loads of Beatle jokes that we considered funny. We gave away loads of Blue & Beautiful singles much to the confusion of the audience which is a common theme in our lengthy career. Great to see old friends and finally meet people we've been e-mailing.

11/11/03 Arlene's Grocery, New York City

Jonny Collins solo acoustic.

I had the honour of opening the International Pop Overthrow festival in New York with a solo acoustic set, characterised by a broken string on a borrowed guitar. It's difficult to get an acoustic guitar when you're playing with powerpop bands. There is full video and audio recording of this show which may meet the light of day if any of it is any good. Audio recorded by David W Brown who was in attendance, video by noted film-maker David Moss. Yes we really did go to New York to play for half an hour in the Lower East Side. We don't do much but when we do it is spectacularly interesting.
